Glasgow was the first show, and always a nerve - racking night for all involved, being the home town and all. Playing to your Aunties is nearly what it's like, as this is the show that all the families want to come to. Backstage is like a family& friends reunion/ creche, chaos but fun.
The venue was completely sold out, which is a fantastic feeling normally, but in your home town it always feels special. And what a night it was. If there is such a thing as a perfect show, then this one felt like that. Everything was just right, and it was a magical night for all involved. "Barcelona" got another standing ovation, and from there the audience just seem to have more and more fun.
Next was Dundee, the final UK date. This is another one of those cities, and venues, that we like to play. The dressing rooms are very comfortable, and great to chill out in. Everyone was very relaxed and full of fun at soundcheck, i think the feeling of euphoria from the previous night was still there. I had a lot of fun at this one, joking about with the audience between songs, and just felling quite relaxed on the stage. A fantastic singalong crowd here as always, and we finished on a real high, a great way to end this part of the UK leg of the tour.
I'm sitting right now at home, writing this, instead of packing my suitcase, as i head off to the hotel at the airport tomorrow night, and fly out to the States on Monday. Keep looking on here for stories form the US tour, i'm sure i'll have lots to tell ....
Ta Ta for now ....
Gary, I hope you receive this comment. You're busy right now with the tour, but jut wanted to thank you for bringing back part of Freddie to us.
ReplyDeleteI was at yesterday's concert in Austin, Texas. This is the first time I see you and i'm 100% pleased with your performance because it gave me a chance to experience Queen and Freddie the closest way possible to how he was on stage. Great job, seriously. I've watched many Queen videos and documentaries... you truly know how to represent who Freddie was. Outstanding performance :) Thanks for coming to Austin! Please go to PerĂº one day... I'm from there.

I just saw you last night in Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA. AWESOME performance and I hope the audience delivered for you. I think tonight's performance is pretty much a sell-out. Thank you for a great Queen experience and good luck on your US tour.
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I saw you guys in Tyler Texas last evening and we were definitely impressed! Drove from Shreveport, La. and it was well worth the drive. Great tribute to Queen and a good time was had by all. Come see us in Shreveport sometime, they'd love you here! : )

I saw you in Houston. This is my 2nd time seeing you at the Houston HOB. Fantastic! Better than last year! I love that you do some of the FM Solo songs as well as the group songs! I wish you had been able to do Barcelona or How Can I Go On. Two of my faves! Looking forward to your next time in Houston, TX!
