Greetings bloggers.
Well here we are, in February already, how did that happen ??? The first few shows of the year have been really good, and everyone, band and crew, are incredibly focussed for the year ahead.
Anyway, back to the shows, here is a quick overview.....

First stop of the year was Exmouth. We left the day before, as it's a LONG way down !! The when we arrived at the venue, the crew were just finishing with the sound and lights, so went to my dressing room, dumped my bags, and went for a walk into town. The show was good, a busy night, which is always great at the start of a tour. They were all out of their seats pretty quickly and dancing. We were quite relieved to get the first half over, as we were all a bit nervous about remembering the songs !!!

Next day it was Barnstaple, where we haven't played for a while. Another packed house, and everyone was quite relaxed onstage, we have all found our feet again pretty quickly, which can be difficult sometimes, after a break. Great fun onstage at this. We were joking about and laughing at silly things , it's going to be one of those tours.

Next, on to Yeovil, 2 nights in one place, beautiful...
Two great shows here as always. I made a comment onstage last year about doing 2 nights, and the venue literally took me at my word, which was cool. It's great to book 2 nights in the same venue, and for it to be packed out, which this was. I was quite relaxed onstage at these 2, having nice banter with the audience between songs. It's great to be back on the road.....

Malvern New Theatre was next on the map, another venue we haven't played for 2 years. Andy couldn't hang the lighting rig from the ceiling, as it wouldn't support it, so he was inventive, and built it on the floor. I must say, it looked pretty cool. It's a lovely town this, and a very warm audience, who like to listen as well as boogy.

Next stop, Nottingham, scene of our first ever show. The audience here are always fantastic, as this show was no exception. The lights went down, and a massive cheer went up, all good.
Ruth was at this show, and "Barcelona" was another triumph.

Hull was the last of this little run,and the last show in England until May. Had a lot of fun onstage here, joking with the audience, and teasing them to go crazier and crazier, which they did, God bless em !!

Hello Paris :
We arrived in Paris the night before the show, and all went out for dinner and a couple of drinks, some of us drinking more than others ......
What a show !!!! The lights went down, and the roar of the crowd nearly lifted the roof off !! they were amazing, i couldn't hear myself onstage a lot of the time, because they were louder than us. "Barcelona" was the highlight of the show, and by the encore, we were all buzzing as much as the crowd. After the show, i was violently sick, and went on to the tour bus to Brussels not a well bunny....

When i woke up the following day in Brussels, i still felt terrible, spent most of the day being sick, but was determined to be well enough to enjoy the show. And i thought the audience in Paris were loud.... These guys were off the scale !!! and one point a chant of GARY GARY went up, which made me chuckle a bit. The adrenaline got pumped me up for this one, it was an awesome night, and i collapsed into my hotel bed at the end a very happy man indeed.

That's all for the moment, until next time, stay safe.... TA TA.....
